Present salary = rs 4200

increase percent =12%

METHOD 1:

Increase %= 12%

Therefore,

increase in salary = 12 % of 4200

 =    \frac{12}{100}  \times4200

 = 12 \times 42

 = 504

therefore, salary = 4200+504

= rs 4705

METHOD 2:

increase = 12%

therefore,

appreciation formula =

p( 1 + \frac{r}{100} )

4200(1 +  \frac{12}{100} ) \\ 4200 \times  \frac{112}{100}  \\ 42 \times 112 \\ \: rs. 4704
