Let present ages of p and q be x and y

So, x/y = 2/3 ⇒ y=3/2*x

after 6 years

(x+6)/(y+6) = 3/4

4*(x+6) = 3*(y+6)

4x + 24 = 3y + 18

4x + 6 =3*(3/2 * x)

9/2 *x = 4x + 6

(9/2 - 4)*x = 6

x/2 = 6

x=12 years i.e age of p is 12 years and q is 18 years
