            IMPORTANCE OF  INVESTMENT IN NSC


NSC means National saving certificate. It is a post office saving scheme. Its by the government. It is the safest investment option.

The minimum amount is Rs 100, no upper limit. It is sold in denomination of Rs 100, Rs. 500, Rs .1000 , Rs. 5000, and Rs 10000.

Nsc is for much shorter than  the PPF that is public provident fund , where your money locked for many years.

The NSC is a one time investment . Investment made in NSC are eligible for deduction under section 80c of the Income Tax Act. Thus investors can enjoy tax benefits on their investment in NSC. The interest from investment in these certificate are allowedc as a deduction  and thus virtually tax free, except in the year of maturity.  But if it touch the limit  under section 80 c ( Rs. 1.50 lakh ) the investment do not qualify for a tax deduction .
