4 A non- essential part of the flowers is the accessory part that is not directly involved with the gametes formation and sexual reproduction. The whorls of the calyx (individual unit - sepals) and corolla (individual unit - petals) are involved in the protection of flower and attraction of the pollinators, respectively. So these are considered to be non-essential parts of the flowers.

Hence sepals and petals are called none - essential parts of the flower.

5 Pericarp is the part of a fruit formed from the wall of the ripened ovary. It surrounded the seeds. It is tough because the parent plant needs to protect plant growth.

The three layers are Epicarp, Mesocarp, and Endocarp.
