Shah Jahan was the fifth emperor of the Mughal empire. He is best known for the architectures he made in India. He built many monuments in India including the Taj Mahal of Agra, Red Fort and Jama Masjid in Delhi, Jahangir Mausoleum Takht-e-Taus Shahjahan Mosque at Thatta, and Moti Masjid or Pearl Mosque in Lahore. Therefore, as he built many monuments in India he is called 'the prince of builders' or "a great builder of monuments".

Protection of heritage monuments is very valuable because it gives a sense of integrity and continuity in a fast-changing atmosphere for coming generations. Heritage buildings primarily represent the ancient culture and history of a nation. Therefore, the Government of India has made it a fundamental duty for its citizens to protect and preserve these monuments.
