  • Sodium hydrogen carbonate is a salt produce by the neutralization reaction of strong base i.e,NaOH with a weak acid i.e, H2CO3 (Carbonic acid).
  • Hence salt produce by it is a basic salt and NaHCO3 is a basic in nature
  • NAHCO3 is heated at high temperatures to dehydrate it to produce sodium carbonate(Na2CO3) .
  • Then Na2CO3 is made to react with weather to make it Na2CO3.10H2O i.e, Sodium carbonate dehydrate (Washing soda).
