• over the last three decades ,the number and strength of regional parties have increased this made the Parliament of India politically more and more diverse .no national parties is able to secure clear majority on it's own in lok sabha
• As a result national parties are compelled to form alliances with state parties .regional parties to form alliances with state parties provide platform for diverse social group and communities .they by sharing the power of the government with national parties
• since the 1996 .nearly all of the state parties have got an opportunity to be a part of one or other national level of coalition government
• Thus .state parties contribute in strengthening of federalism and democracy in our country
