Both X and Y are false.

  • Different substances have different specific heats.
  • But if we place samosa and the curry separately then it might happen that the curry might get cooled fast.
  • The curry remains hot because it is inside the samosa and is protected by it.
  • First the samosa gets cooled because of the difference in heat between samosa and the environment. After that the curry gets cooled.
  • Although both of them might have different specific heat values but the reason for this phenomenon is different.
