Step-by-step explanation:

tap a fill 2/5 of tank in 12 hrs so in 1hr it will fill 1/30 of tank

similarly tap b will fill 1/36;of tank in 1hr

then time taken to fill the tank is (30*36)/(30+36)

=16.6hr

Answer:

18+1/2=181/2 hours = 18 hours 30 minutes. Tap A can fill a tank in 10 hours, tap B can fill it in 20 hours, and, an outlet, Tap C, can empty the tank in 30 hours. Each tap is opened, one by one, for exactly one hour and then closed.
