SOLUTION :

 \\  \\

Given :-

  • Age of the father is double to the age of his son.

  • The age of father was 12 times to the age
  • of his son before 20 years.

 \\

To Find :-

  • Present age of father = ?

 \\

Calculation :-

 \\

Suppose,

  • Present age of the son = x years

According to first condition,

  • ❍ Present age of the father = 2x years

 \\

20 years ago,

  • Age of the son was = (x - 20) years

  • Age of the father was = (2x - 20) years

 \\

According to second condition,

  • ❍ 12 (x - 20) = 2x - 20

⇒ 12x - 240 = 2x - 20

⇒ 12x - 2x = - 20 + 240

⇒ 10x = 220

⇒ x = \sf{\dfrac{220}{10}}

x = 22

 \\

Substituting the value of x, we get,

  • ❍ Present age of the father = 2x years

⇒ Present age of the father = (2 × 22) years

∴ Present age of the father = 44 years
