4. The diameter of a roller is 84 cm and its length is 120 cm. It takes 500 complete
revolutions to move once over to level a playground. Find the area of the playground
in m2​

Answer :-

Given,

The roller is in the form of a cylinder

Radius = 84/2

=> 42 cm

length means height = 120cm

Area of roller = Curved surface area of cylinder

= 2πrh

= 2 × 22/7 × 42 × 120

= 31680cm²

So

Area of one revolution = 31680cm²

then 500 revolution = 31680 × 500

= 15840000cm²

So, area of playground = 15840000cm²

And in m² = 15840000/10000

=> 1584m²

Therefore area of the playground = 1584m²
