4. The H.C.F. and L.C.M. of two numbers are 45 and 255 respectively. If one of the numbers is 25, find the other number.

SOLUTION :

Given :

HCF of two numbers is 45

LCM of two numbers is 255

one of the number is 25

To be found :

Second number

let the second number be x

Now by using

HCF × LCM = product of two numbers

$= > 45 \times 255 = x \: \times 25 \\ \\ = > \frac{45 \times 255}{25} = x \\ \\ = > 459 = x$

Hence another number is 459

Check

HCF×LCM

= 45×255

= 11475

Product of two numbers

= 25×459

= 11475

so HCF × LCM = product of two numbers
