4. The height of chimney required for effective disposal of 27 kg/hr of SO2 emission is a) 42 m b) 30 m c) 222 m d) 81 m
ans:h=14×(27)⅓
that means
14×(3³)⅓
=14×3=42m

in this question option (a) is correct =42

reason is that in the small boiler using coal or suppose liquide  fueles  the height shall be calculated as per given farmula

H= 14 x Q x0.3

H= 14 x 27^{1/3}

H=14 x(3^{3})^{1/3}

H= 14 x3

H= 42cm

tip: the stack hight is never less than 11cm in any case

Given:  SO2 emission rate - 27kg/hr

To Find  Height of chimney for effective disposal.

Solution:   Formula to be used :

                 H = 14 x Q x 0.3  ( for smaller boiler height of chimney)

                 H = 14 (27) 1/3      ( Q = SO2 emission rate )

                 H = (14 x 3)m

                 H = 42m

Hence Height of chimney required for effective disposal = 42m
