BC and AD: To calculate using BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini), we must understand that the year calculating system is as ..., 1000 BC, ..., 1 BC, AD 1, AD 2, ..., 2019

Solution:

a) Indus Valley Civilization began around 2800 BC and lasted for 900 years.

Thus the year in which Indus Valley Civilization ended is about

(2800 - 900) BC, i.e., 1900 BC

b) The ancient period of Indian history began around 500 BC and lasted for around 1050 years.

Thus the year in which ancient period ended is about

(500 - 1050) = AD 550

c) The ancient period of Indian history ended (1900 BC - AD 550) = 1900 + 550 years = 2450 years after the Indus Valley Civilization ended.

For more accuracy:

Since there is no 0 BC or AD 0, the answers of (b) and (c) can be increased by 1 and diminished by 1 respectively.
