4. The length and breadth of a cardboard is 2-m and 1-m respectively. Another cardboard has length and breadth

cardboard if 5 cardboard pieces are taken from the first cardboard and 3 cardboard pieces are taken from the
second cardboard?

area  of 1st cardboard= l x b=2 x 1=2m²

area of one piece of 1st cardboard= 2m²/10=0.2m²

area of 5 pieces of 1st cardboard=0.2 x 5=1 m²

area  of 2nd cardboard= l x b=3 x 5= 15 m²

area of one piece of 2nd cardboard= 15m²/10=1.5 m²

area of 3 pieces of 1st cardboard=1.5 x 3=4.5 m²

hence, required area=1 m²+4.5 m²= 5.5 m²
