=> 60 = (x + 7) × x

=> 60 = x² + 7x

=> x² + 7x - 60 = 0

=> x² - 5x + 12x - 60 = 0

=> x( x - 5 ) + 12( x - 5 ) = 0

=> ( x + 12 )( x - 5 ) = 0

=> x + 12 = 0 or x - 5 = 0

=> x = (-12) or x = 5

but width cannot be negative so

x = 5 cm

so width = 5 cm

& length = 5 + 7 = 12 cm
