B) 2m/s

{\huge{\boxed{\mathcal{\red{Explanation}}}}}

Momentum of a body is the product of its mass and velocity. It is represented by the expression

p = mv

In this :

  • p = momentum
  • m = mass of body
  • v= velocity of body

Now kinetic energy of a body is the energy due to it's motion. Kinetic energy of a body is half of product of its mass and square of velocity. It is represented by the expression:

k.e =  \frac{1}{2}  \times m {v}^{2}

In this :

  • k. e = Kinetic energy
  • m = mass of body
  • v = velocity of body.

Now coming to question :

  • It is given that momentum of this particle is numerically equal to ita kinetic energy.

This we can say, in this case

Momentum = Kinetic energy

Thus both expressions are also equal:

mv =  \frac{1}{2}  \times m {v}^{2}

2 \times mv = m {v}^{2}

(v) on both sides will cancel each other ,thus:

2m = mv

now (m) on both sides will cancel each other,thus:

v = 2

Therefore the velocity of particle is 2m/s.
