Perimeter of a rectangle = 64 cm

Length of a rectangle = 17 cm

Let the breadth be x cm .

Since we know that ,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

$64 = 2(17 + x) \\ 64 = 34 + 2x \\ 2x = 64 - 34 \\ 2x = 30 \\ x = 30 \div 2 \\ x = 15 \: cm$

Breadth of rectangle = 15 cm

Now , Area of rectangle = l × b

$area \: of \: rectangle = 17 \times 15 \\ area \: of \: rectangle = 255 \: cm {}^{2}$
