4. The perimeter of a rhombus is 40 cm and the distance between a pair of parallel sides is 5.6 cm. If the length of one of its diagonals is 7 cm, find the length of the other diagonal

answer = 16cm

Explanation

perimeter= 40 cm

one side = 40/4= 10 cm

area of parallelogram = height * base

( as rhombus is a special type of parallelogram)

so area= 10*5.6

= 56 cm sq

let other diagonal is x

so, now by formula of rhombus area

56= (7* x )/2

x= (56*2)/ 7

x= 16 cm

so other diagonal is 16 cm
