Question:-

The ratio of adjacent sides of a parallelogram is as 2:3, and its perimeter is 60 cm.Find the sides of parallelogram.

Answer:-

  • The sides of parallelogram are 12 cm and 18 cm.

To find :-

  • The sides of parallelogram

Solution:-

  • Ratio = 2:3

Put x in the ratio,

  • Length (l) = 2x
  • Breadth (b) = 3x
  • Perimeter = 60 cm

 \blue{ \boxed{ \mathfrak{ \huge{ \purple{ \underline{ \underline{ \pink{ perimeter = 2(l + b)}}}}}}}}

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \: \:  \:  \:2(2x + 3x) = 60}

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \: \:  \:  \:2x + 3x =  \frac{60}{2} } \\

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \: \:  \:  \:5x = 30}

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \: \:  \:  \:x =  \frac{30}{5} } \\

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \: \:  \:  \:x = 6}

  • The value of x is 6 cm

Answer :-

  • The sides of the parallelogram are 24cm and 36cm respectively.

Given :-

  • The ratio of adjacent sides of a parallelogram is as 2:3 and its perimeter is 60 cm.

To Find :-

  • Sides of the parallelogram.

Solution :-

Put x in the ratio

Sides are

  • 2x
  • 3x

Here

  • Perimeter of the parallelogram is 60cm.

As we know that

  • Perimeter of a parallelogram is 2 (a + b)

According to question :-

⇒ 2 (2x + 3x) = 60

⇒ 2 × 5x = 60

⇒ 10x = 60

⇒ x = 60/10

⇒ x = 6

Now

  • 2x = 2 × 12 = 24cm
  • 3x = 3 × 12 = 36cm

Hence, the sides of the parallelogram are 24cm and 36cm respectively.
