Solution:

1 There are 54 tickets to be shared and divided to Anthurium section and Orchids  section in the ratio. 4 .:5

Anthurium section ticket = (4/(4 + 5)) * 54 = 24

Orchids section ticket = (5/(4 + 5)) * 54 = 30

2. A dove keeper has  feeds for 85 birds for 20 days.  17 birds flew awa y and did not return,

85 x 20 = 1700

17 birds flew awa y  => remaining 85 - 17 = 68

Days = 1700/68  = 25

feeds last 25 Days

3. A winning prize of 540,000.00 from lottery is to be divided among 3 winner  Alvin, Larry and Ivan in the ratio 1 2:3,

Alvin share = (1/(1 + 2 + 3)) * 540,000.00 =  90,000.00

Larry  share = (2/(1 + 2 + 3)) * 540,000.00 = 180,000.00

Ivan share = (3/(1 + 2 + 3)) * 540,000.00 = 270,000.00

4 The ratio of male to female in a class is 4:5.  there are 24 males,

4/5 = 24/F

=> F = 30

Females = 30

5. A car is able to travel 210 km in 3 hours

=> 210/3 = 70 km in 1 hr

in 5hr = 70 x 5 = 350 km

Car can travel in 5 hours = 350 km
