Let C be the point at which the tree is broken and let the top of the tree touch the ground at A.

Let B denote the foot of the tree.

Given AB=30m and ∠CAB=30∘

In the right angled △CAB,

tan30∘=ABBC

⇒BC=ABtan30∘

∴BC=330

=103m               (1)

Now,  cos30∘=ACAB

⇒AC=cos30∘AB

So, 

AC=330×2=103×2=203
