1-Use the Insert Table dialog box to enter table size, layout, and color for a new table that you insert via the Text Editor.

2-(A) Tables are a common feature in Word documents. They organize related data in a neat, comprehensive format. ... The Table Move handle, shown below, appears in the upper-left corner anytime the mouse passes over the table or you actually select something.

(B)Resize an entire table manually

Rest the cursor on the table until the table resize handle. appears at the lower-right corner of the table.

Rest the cursor on the table resize handle until it becomes a double-headed arrow .

Drag the table boundary until the table is the size you want.

3 - Step 1: Open the document in Word 2010 that contains the table that you want to modify.

Step 2: Click inside a table cell in the column to the left of where you want to insert the new column.

Step 3: Click the Layout tab under Table Tools at the top of the window.

Step 4: Click the Insert Right button to insert a column to the right of the column that you selected in Step 2. If you would instead prefer to insert a column to the left of this column, then click the Insert Left button.

4 - You can split and merge cells in a table.Splitting cells is similar to adding a row or column, but it all takes place in one cellinstead of a group of cells. Merging cells, however, is similar to deleting a cell and then adjoining it with a neighboring cell.
