Answer :
Given :
- Two cubes of side 7cm all joined together.
Find :
- The T.S.A of the new solid formed.
Solution :
We have from the given info that ,
- From two 7 cm cube when joined together forms a new solid.
- The solid so formed is a cuboid .
The measurements of the cuboid ,
- Length = 14 cm
- Breadth = 7 cm
- Height = 7 cm
Now what we have to find is ,
- The total surface area of the new solid formed that is the cuboid.
Formula to be used :
Now,
- Substitute the values of cuboid in the formula .
T.S.A of Cuboid = 2(lb + bh + hl)
T.S.A of Cuboid = 2([14×7 ]+ [7×7]+ [14×7])
T.S.A of Cuboid = 2(98 + 49 + 98)
T.S.A of Cuboid = 2 × 245
T.S.A of Cuboid = 490
•°• The total surface area of the newly formed cuboid is 490 cm square.
