4. What did the little bluebirds do while Nanabozho was painting?
Answers
ANSWER :
1. What distracted Nanabozho while he was painting the flowers?
Ans: Nanabozho would every now and then look up to the endless blue sky. He
noticed the two little bluebirds playing games with each other. The first bluebird went
zippity-zip as he raced across the sky chasing the other. The second bluebird went
zappity-zing as he chased the first bluebird. Then he went back to paint his flowers.
2. What did the two little bluebirds decide among themselves?
Ans: The two little bluebirds decided to see how fast they could dive down to the
green fields below them. The first bluebird sailed down and down to the fields. Then
he pulled himself up just before he touched the ground. The second bluebird too
sailed down and down towards the grass and then pulled himself up too. They
continued with this game for some time.
3. How did the little bluebirds disturb Nanabozho?
Ans: The two little bluebirds were chasing each other across the sky. The first
bluebird’s right wing dipped into the red paint pot as he flew past Nanabozho. When
the second bluebird dove towards the grass, his left wing grazed the orange paint
pot. This disturbed Nanabozho as their feet and feathers were covered with paint of
all colours. Each time the birds soared past Nanabozho, their wings would graze the
different colour pots.
4. What made Nanabozho shoo the birds away?
Ans: The two little bluebirds kept up with their game even after they were scolded by
Nanabozho. Each bird dove down toward the grass where he sat painting and flew
back up into the sky. Soon, their feet and feathers were covered with paint of all
colours. The colours were spilled all over the grass. Nanabozho got irritated and
angry and so he waved his arms to shoo the birds away.
