Answer:

Organisms respire to get energy from food. During respiration energy is released from food and this takes place inside the cells of the body. Oxygen of air taken inside the cells is used for breaking down of food and energy is released by burning food.

Answer:

Respiration is the process by which organisms respire by taking in air rich in oxygen and releasing air rich in carbon dioxide to break down food into energy for the utilisation of our body.

In respiration process food is broken down into energy.

We get energy from respiration by two processes-

There are two types of respiration -

Aerobic respiration = Glucose (in the presence of oxygen) → carbon dioxide+water+energy

Anaerobic respiration = Glucose (in the absence of oxygen) → alcohol+carbon dioxide+energy
