It is a cyclic process and is divided into four phases- the follicular phase, the ovulatory phase, the luteal phase, and the menstrual phase. It is this cycle that makes pregnancy in females possible. It is mainly controlled and affected by hormones like the luteinizing hormone, progesterone, and estrogen.
