We know that conductors are those which conduct electricity. Generally the free electrons and ions helps in conducting electricity. Our body also have ions as well as water which is a good conductor of electricity. Thus, our body is also a good conductor of Electricity.

It is advisable to wear plastic slippers or rubber gloves while dealing with any electrical appliance because:-

When we touch any electrical appliance, Our body remains in contact with the earth. Thus, Electric charges/electrons can pass through us to the ground easily. Thus, to prevent it we use plastic or any kind of insulators. Otherwise, we might be electrocuted.

The charges flow through, but whenever we were plastic slippers, it creates a barrier between our body and the ground. Hence, not allowing the charges to flow or to create a continous path for the flow of charges. We can also use of Plastic/rubber gloves which will help in preventing our hands to carry charges.
