The molecules exert no force of attraction or repulsion upon one another. I.e., the molecules are independent of each other. This is the reason gases do not have a definite shape.

Gases !!!

  • The state which has less intermolecular attraction then Other 2 States ..

  • Here the particles are quite distant and the forces are loose enough to give a decent shape to any object !!

conclusion

  • Solid can Give a definite shape to the the vessel which occupies due to the strong intermolecular forces of attraction that it exhibits.

  • But this does not work for liquid which have very loose are almost forces between the molecules.

  • gases particles can freely roam all over the space which it occupies.
