4 people make 4 tables in 4 hours. If we divide this per person, we get 1 person makes 1 table in 4 hours. Divide that by hour, and 1 person makes 1/4 table per hour. Simple.

Now we take that, and have 8 people work for 8 hours. 1/4 table *8 hours is 2 tables per person, times 8 people is 16 tables.

This type of question likes to trip you up by giving a lot of the same numbers so you draw connections between them that aren't there. 4-4-4 misleads you into thinking that the general form is x-x-x, but it's not, you have to break the problem down.
