Dear Diary,

Today I landed in India when Chancellor called out for me for trade purpose. I am right now in Calcutta, the British administration capital of East India company. I was not able to write to you for a long voyage of one week in Cargo ship, and you know it takes time as I feel dizzy during the voyages. Anyways, we made a huge profit by selling the Indigo  in the north. But there was such a massive struggle that it was almost impossible to reach destination. But finally we reached. Well we have also made a deal in which as per me we are going to gain again but loss in some of our transport charges . But the deal will take place after a week and I am terribly missing my family, but now I think I will have to shift here because I can see that I have to visit here frequently and I cannot take much dizziness every week. So I am going to consult my wife and take permission from chief to come here.

Now I am going to sleep.

Daniel.

Dear Diary,

Today I went to seek a permission in order to trade in India. But the officials said that the work will take time. They said me to come tomorrow to their head office. I then agreed. The Charter act of 1813 ended the monopoly of the East India Company in India, however the company's monopoly in trade with china and trade in tea was remained intact. The charter act of 1813, for the first time explicitly defined the constitutional position of the British territories in India
