4 Write the importance of chlorophyll in the process of photosynthesis.
Answers
Answer:
if the chlorophyll will not be in leaf the leaf will be of of no use
Importance of chlorophyll :
First of all, what is chlorophyll ?
It is the green pigment and is found in chloroplasts of plants, and because of chlorophyll plants, mainly their leaves, look green.
- Chlorophyll plays an important role in the process of photosynthesis.
- Photosynthesis take place only on those parts of plants where chlorophyll is present and thus in the absence of chlorophyll, photosynthesis do not take place.

Photosynthesis :
The process of conversion of inorganic materials to organic compounds by green plants mainly to synthesize their own food for survival in the presence of light energy by the sun is referred to as photosynthesis, which take place in chloroplasts.
》The inorganic materials are none other than carbon dioxide and water which through chemical reactions get converted into organic compound like glucose with oxygen as byproduct.
》The process of photosynthesis and respiration respectively go hand in hand as the oxygen so formed during photosynthesis is used in the process of respiration while carbon dioxide so released during respiration is used up in the process of photosynthesis.
》Photosynthesis take place in the presence of sunlight and hence at night green plants release carbon dioxide in a huge amount via respiration which is not used for the process of photosynthesis.
