  3. In the box under File Types select the type of file by clicking its name (Word files are Documents).

  5. When the Modify Location dialog box appears, find the folder where you would like Word to store saved documents by navigating through the folders as you would in the Save dialog box.

  1. Click the triangle next to "Documents."
  2. Right-click the "My Documents" folder.
  3. Click "Properties" > Select the "Location" tab.
  4. Type "H:\docs" in the bar > Click
  5. Apply a message box may ask you if you want to move the contents of the folder to the new folder. Click [No]. If you have files saved on your C: drive, you can move those manually.
  6. All files will now default save to your H: drive.
