4^x - 10 × 2^x - 1 = 24
( 2² )^x - 10 × 2^x / 2 = 24
( 2^x )^² - 5 × 2^x - 24 = 0
( 2^x )² - 8 × 2^x + 3 × 2^x - 24 = 0
( 2^x ) [ ( 2^x - 8 ) ] + 3 ( 2^x - 8 ) = 0
( 2^x - 8 ) ( 2^x + 3 ) = 0
Therefore ,
2^x - 8 = 0 or 2^x + 3 = 0
2^x = 8 or 2^x = -3
2^x = 2³
x = 3
