4/x+3/y=1;8/x-9/y=7
Ans:-
4(1/x)+3(1/y)=1 ----------- (1)
8(1/x)-9(1/y)=7 ------------(2)
Replacing (1/x)by m and (1/y)by n we get,
4m+3n=1 ----------------(3)
8m-9n=7 ---------------(4)
Multiplying equation (3)by 2 we get,
8m+6n=2 -------------(5)
Subtracting equation (5) from equation (4) we get,
8m-9n=7
8m+6n=2
--------------
0m-15n=5
n=5/15 = 1/3
N=-1/3
Substituting n°-1/3 in equation (3) we get,
4m+3× -1/3=1
4m-1=1
4m=1+1
4m=2
M=2/4 =1/2
M=1/2
But m=(1/x)and n=(1/y)
1/x=1/2. and. 1/y= -1/3
X=2. and y= -3
(X,Y)=(2,-3)is the solution.
