Question :-

→ 4x² - 5x - 3=0 solve by using the quadratic formula .

Answer :-

\implies \boxed{\sf{ x =  1.69\:  \: and \: 0.44}} \:

Explanation :-

We have

→ 4x² - 5x - 3 = 0

And ,we know that if we have a quadratic

ax² + bx + c = 0 .....eq.(1)

,then by using quadratic formula i.e,

 \implies  \boxed{\sf{x =  \frac{ - b \pm \sqrt{ {b}^{2}  - 4ac} }{2a} }} \\

Compare the given quadratic equation with eq.(1)

We get

→ a = 4 , b = -5 and c = -3

Hence , using the given formula

 \implies \sf{ x =  \frac{ - ( - 5) \pm \sqrt{ {( - 5)}^{2} - 4 \times 4 \times ( - 3) } }{2 \times 4} } \\  \\  \implies \sf{x =  \frac{5 \pm \sqrt{25 + 48} }{8} } \\  \\  \implies \sf{x =   \frac{5 \pm \sqrt{73} } {8} } \\  \because \boxed{ \sqrt{73}  = 8.54} \\  \\ (1) \bf \: if \:  +  \\  \\  \to \sf{} x =  \frac{5 + 8.54}{8}  = \frac{13.54}{8}  =  1.69\\  \\ (2) \bf if \: -  \:  \\  \\  \to \sf{}x =  \frac{5 - 8.54}{8}  =  \frac{ - 3.54}{8}  =0.44  \\  \therefore \\  \implies \boxed{\sf{ x =  \: 1.69 \: and \: 0.44}}

QUESTION :

4 x square - 5 x minus 3 is equals to zero solve by using formula your answer correct to 2 decimal place.

SOLUTION :

f(x) => 4 x^2 - 5 x - 3

From the equation,

B = -5

A = 4

C = -3

=> - B = 5

=> D = [ b^2 - 4 ac ] = [ 25 - 4 × 4 × - 3 ] = [ 25 + 48 ] = 73.

2A = 8

=> Roots :

{ 25 - 73 } / 8 and { 25 + 73 } / 8

73 to 2 digits decimal place = 8.54

=> Root 1 = { 25 + 8.54 } / 8 = 1.69........(A1)

=> Root 1 = { 25 - 8.54 } / 8 = 0.44........(A2)
