4y-24=16y-8
4y-16y=-8+24
-12y=16
y=-16/12
y=-4/3

Hey there !!

4 ( y-6) = 8(2y -1)
=> 4y -24 = 16y - 8
=> -24+8 = 16y - 4y
=> -16 = 12y
=> y = -16/12
=> y = -4/3
