Heya mate,
here is your answer:
4 YEARS AGO
let the age of the Daughter = x
then according to the question,
since the mother is 3 times the age of Daughter So,
age of the mother = 3 × x = 3x
then, PRESENT AGE
of the daughter = x + 4
of the mother = 3x + 4
Hence a linear equation for this situation is
x + 4 = 3x + 4
=> 4 - 4 = 3x -x
=> 0 = 2x
=> 2x = 0
=> x = ½
Hope this helps
if you have a doubt or want any help, you can ask me. I would like to help.
