let the present age of George be xyears .
"the present age of his daughter be y years .
4years ago :age of George=x-4years
age of daughter =y-4years .
ATP:
x-4=4(y+4 )
x-4=4y+12
x=4y+12-----------(1)
After 4years :
George age =x+4
daughter age =y+4
ATP:
x+4=2(y+4+2)
x+4=2y+8+4
x+4=2y+12 ---------(2)
putting the value of xfrom equation 1in2
x+4 =2y+12
4y+4 =2y+12
4y-2y=12-4
2y=8
y=4years
putting the value of y in eq. 1
x=16+12
x=28 years
Hope it helped .
