Let the present age of your father be X
And your present age is Y.
before 4 years yours father age = X-4
Before 4 years your age = Y-4
A/Q,
X-4= 4(Y-4)
X-4 = 4Y-16
X-4Y = -16+4
X-4Y = -12....(1)
Again,
X+Y = 53....(2)
From equation (1) we get,
X = -12+4Y....(3)
put the value of X in equation (2) we get,
X+Y = 53
-12+4Y + Y = 53
5Y = 53+12
Y = 65/5= 13Years
Your present age is 13 years
and Your father age = X = -12+4Y = -12+4×13= -12+52 = 40 Years..
