4 years ago my fathers age was 4 times that of my age means,

Also, the sum of father`s and son`s present age is 53.

Subtracting (1) from (2),

The present age of father is 40 yrs.

student-name Tanisha Singh answered this
let my age four years ago = x

therefore my father age four years ago was 4x

after 4 years

my age is x+4 and my father age is 4x + 4

therefore {x+4}+{4x+4} = 53

x+4+4x+4 = 53

5x+8 = 53

5x = 53-8

5x = 45

x = 455 = 9

my age = x = 9

therefore my fathher present age = 4x+4 = 4{9}+4 = 40

heya dear,

let the present age be of your father be=x
and age of you be=y

now your sum is y+x=53 ..........1

four years ago your father's age =x-4
your y-4

4(y-4)=x-4
4y-16=x-4
4y-x=12........2

on adding
both equations
5y=65
y=13yr✨

your father's age =53-13
=40yr ✨
