Answer:

Heya mate,

The difference between ages always remains same, so multiply by 2 in 4 years ago ratio.

1 unit = 8 years

Ages of A and B after 4 years are

A=5×8=40 years

B=7×8=56 years

Hence, Present ages of A and B

= 36 , 52

Step-by-step explanation:

Hope it helps you.

Let their ages before 4 years be a,b respectively.

4 years ago,

a / b = 2/3

a=(2/3)b

4 years later, means a+8,b+8

a+8 / b+8 = 5 / 7

by cross multiplying.

7a + 56 = 5b +40

solving above two equations for a and b, we get

a= 32

b= 48

so their present ages are

a+4 = 36

b+4 = 52

hence

A's present age is 36 yrs

B's present age is 52 yrs

Hope it helped you.

Please let me know if any further doubt.
