The cells are called Collenchyma cells. The cells are elongated in shape and it has a irregular thickening of cell walls and this thickening provides a support to the plant and five a particular structure to the plant also. This thick cell wall is made by pectin and cellulose and these cells are found under the layer of epidermis. These cells are more like a bone to the plant that give support to the plant.
