So, because the left hand side and the right hand side are both equal to 4z-18, we get the equation 4z-18=4z-18, which will be true for any z value(you can get all values with z in it to the left side and all numbers to the right side to get 0=0, which will be true for any z value, thus the original equation also is true for any z value).
