Answer:

Given : A sphere A radius 5cm contains a charge of 120 nc .it is connected to two other sphere B and C having respectiv radii of 10cm and 15cm

To Find : charges on each of the spheres

Solution:

sphere A radius 5cm contains a charge of 120 nc .it is connected to two other sphere B and C having respectiv radii of 10cm and 15cm

kq₁/r₁ = kq₂/r₂ = kq₃/r₃

=> q₁/5 = q₂/10 = q₃/15

=> q₁ = q₂/2= q₃/3

=> q₁ = x , q₂ = 2x , q₃ = 3x

q₁ + q₂ + q₃ = 120 nC

=> x + 2x + 3x = 120 nC

=> 6x = 120 nC

=> x = 20 nC

2x = 40 nC

3x = 60 nC

Charge on 5 cm radius sphere = 20 nC

Charge on 10 cm radius sphere = 40 nC

Charge on 15 cm radius sphere = 60 nC
