40 litres of milk contain 10% water. Find the quantity of water added to the milk, so that it may contain 20% water.​

= 10/100x 40=4

liters amount of milk 40-4=36 liters.

Milk 10 = 40 liter;

water 100 = 1 liter;

mixture 20= 40

l x l= 10*40 + 100x = 20

(40+x)x=5.

The answer is 5 liters of water.
