the amount of the gross receipts. = 6,55,333.33

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say  amount of the gross receipts =  A

working expenses = (40/100)A  = 0.4A

Remainder = A - 0.4A = 0.6A

40% of the remainder goes to reserve = (40/100)0.6A  = 0.24A

Remainder = 0.6A - 0.24A = 0.36A

0.36A is paid away as dividends to shareholders

3 % on their shares, the total value of which is 78,64,000.

= (3/100) 78,64,000.

= 235920

0.36A = 235920

=> A = 6,55,333.33

the amount of the gross receipts. = 6,55,333.33
