40% of the passenger from a bus got down at station x ,75% of the remaining got down at station y .if the remaining 12 passengers were taken to station z,find the original number of passengers

mrse7en: 12=25% then 100% at second stop = 48. 48=40% then 100% at first stop =120.

Let the total percentage at starting of the bus=100%
Then 40% got down at station X, So remaining in the bus=60%
Then 75% of the remaining got down at station Y= 60% -75% of 60%
Remaining passengers= 60%-45%
=15%
So 15% passengers= 12 passengers

So 100% passengers= 80 passengers.. ans!

Answer:

no of passengers got down 40%

so let the no of passengers be 100

40% of 100

40 passengers

100-40=60

no of passengers left 75%

75%of 60=45 passengers

60-45=15

hence 15 %=12 passengers

80%
