Let the total number of people be x .

40% of x are men.

39% of x are women.

So % of children = (100-79)%=21%

Number of children= 12600

So ⇒21x/100 = 12600

⇒21x=12600*100

⇒x=1260000/21=60000

x=60000

Total people=60000

So % of men 40% of 60000

⇒40/100*60000=24000

Hence,number of men are 24,000 (Answer)
