12600 children are 100% - (40% + 39%) = 21% of the entire population.

Hence, the whole population is 12600.100/21 = 600*100 = 60000 persons.

Then 40% of 60000 is 24000.

Answer. The number of men is 24000.

Answer:

In this population, there are 40%men, 39%women and 2600 children.

Percentage of children = 100 - (40+39) = 21%

21%= no.of children/ total population×100

Total population = 2600/21×100= 12,380

40% of population is men

No. of men= 40/100×12,380= 4952
